Both gases are sucked in by the Gas Pump and then sent through the Filter, which feeds Hydrogen to the generator (so that it doesn't flood the top of your base). The way it works is by having Water pumped in to the Electrolyzer, which turns that into Oxygen and Hydrogen.
I also add an Atmo Sensor at the top, with a Gas Pump below it, and a Gas Filter wherever I can fit it in (usually beside the pump.) I have a room that I tend to use for this, which is about 10 wide and 8 high (including walls/ceiling/floor), and contains an Electrolyzer and Battery on the floor, four Airflow tiles above them, and a Hydrogen Generator above that. ^_^ )Īs for creating more oxygen when you're running out of Algae (or Slime to refine into Algae, via Distillation Research), you'll want to use an Electrolyzer. Carbon Skimmers are not entirely necessary. (There are creatures down there which will consume Carbon Dioxide gas and excrete Oil. I'd advise against that one, at least until you've dug down to get Crude Oil. Again, I recommend using an Atmo Sensor to toggle it yourself. From there, it's just a matter of having the pump run when you think Chlorine gas is nearby. Then, we'll want another gas pump outside your Chlorine storage room, with another filter and vent, so that any Chlorine gets filtered and sent into the room but any non-Chlorine stays outside of the room. The reason we have a pump inside the room is to pump out non-Chlorine gases from the room.

If you mean Chlorine gas, then I'd create a large-ish room, and add a Gas Pump and a Gas Filter (from Ventilation and Filtration research, respectively) into the bottom of the room, with a Gas Vent in the top of the room (ideally at the top corner, on the opposite side of the room from a Manual Airlock door.) You'll also want a Atmo Sensor (from Improved Ventilation research), so that you can toggle the Gas Pump remotely. Then it's just a matter of opening and closing the airlock doors so that your Deodorizers can turn the Polluted Oxygen into regular Oxygen, before that hits your base. I'll create a couple of small rooms in a corridor, and put Deodorizers in them, with Deodorizers either side (both towards your base and towards the room with the polluted Oxygen you want to clean out. If it's the Polluted Oxygen, what I tend to do is use Airlock doors (either Manual Airlocks, from the Pressure Management research, or Mechanized Airlocks from Decontamination research), and the Deodorizers (from Decontamination research). Not sure if you mean Polluted Oxygen, from the Slime Biomes, or Chlorine gas.
